The Sweet Beginning

My love for baking started when I was just 16. I remember the first time I whipped up a batch of cupcakes and saw the joy they brought to my friends and family. That was the moment I knew I wanted to create more of those sweet smiles. Baking became my creative outlet, a way to express love and happiness through sugar and flour.

Daydreams and Doubts

As I got older, the dream of owning my own bakery seemed like a distant fantasy. Pessimism crept in, and voices around me echoed the sentiment that running a business would be too much work. I started to believe that working for someone else might be less of a headache. But deep down, there was a nagging urge, a persistent whisper that reminded me of my dream.

A Leap of Faith

In 2020, amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic, that whisper turned into a bold command. I felt a calling to quit my job and take the plunge into entrepreneurship. It was scary, and many thought it was crazy to leave a stable job during such turbulent times. But I trusted that inner voice, the guidance I felt was coming from a higher power, and decided to leap.

Fueled by Flour Blossoms

With faith as my guide, Fueled by Flour was born. The journey was filled with challenges, but also incredible milestones. Being featured in SD Voyager and Shout Out Socal, collaborating with top brands like Chefmaster and Foliay Sprinkles, and, most importantly, serving my community with delectable, whimsical cakes – these were the moments that fueled my passion even more.

The Magic of Diversity

Fueled by Flour isn’t just a cakery; it’s a celebration of diversity and creativity. As a black woman-owned business, I take pride in breaking the mold and creating a space where everyone feels welcome and seen. Every cake we bake is infused with love, creativity, and a touch of magic, reflecting the vibrant diversity of our community.
